Welcome To The World of Lt Grey

Welcome to the world of Lt Grey. It has been a hectic, whirlwind past couple of months, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Last time we checked the calendar it was October and we were hosting our Ribbon Cutting. Now it's February and we've just relaunched our own site, taking on multiple new clients per month, and exhibiting in our very first tradeshow in a couple weeks. Phew, here we go!

It all started Freshman year of college. We both were attending Savannah College of Art and Design, and both of our home states were Maryland. We bonded over the Ravens going to the Super Bowl (and winning, woo hoo!) and being dorm room neighbors. It was history ever since.

As a creative couple, we were always looking for an outlet to work together in our free time. Harrison was studying Photography & Graphic Design, while I was a Fashion Marketing major who also ran a full-time blog. As the blog started to grow, we both realized that this was an outlet that we both were very passionate about. I came up with the ideas, styled everything, and wrote stories. Harrison would photograph the products perfectly, and we started to get into a groove. Soon, the blog was providing for our eating out habits, extra little shopping trips, etc. If you want to find out more about our fashion and lifestyle blog, you can visit it here.

Lt Grey was my senior project. It was so much fun to work on, basically because I could just day dream all day long. I had no idea or intentions that it would come true, especially this soon. We both felt like we were in limbo in our careers. We were unhappy, uninspired, and just kind of over it all. We kept joking, "Well, there's always Lt Grey!"

After eating lunch at a local restaurant, we saw a For Rent sign on a office space next-door. Just curious, we called the number and asked for a tour. Again, I don't think we were registering what we were doing, we were just curious and bored. We both came to the conclusion that it wasn't the right time, and that we should both follow in the 9-5 life in our industries. We went away for a weekend, and came back to see the For Rent sign no longer in the window. "Oh well, it just wasn't meant to be," we kept telling ourselves. Two days later we got a call that they were still looking for tenants, and wanted to lower the rent. How could we pass up this opportunity and steal? Within a day we had signed our new lease, I had bought a new car, and was so anxious, scared, and just plain excited. Does the expression below describe it? Absolutely.

Don't get us wrong, there's been quite a few bumps along the road. Entrepreneurship, as well as owning a small business, is never easy. But we're learning and growing together. We have had a huge acceptance in our wonderful community, along with amazing friends and family who make it hard to have a bad day. We are so excited for where this career path will take us, big and small. So, without further ado, welcome to this world of Lt Grey we've created!
